what we believe

  • It is important to have a set of beliefs- a foundation- based on God's Word. The   following are the core beliefs of Radiate Church.  There are Scripture references listed; however, not ALL references by any means!  Ultimately, for us, it comes down to this: being light through a life of love.

1.  The Trinity - There is one true God, eternally self-existing in three separate, yet equal persons:  God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit.  Each is referred to by different names throughout the Scriptures.  There is no other god or gods.  (See Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22, John 14:26)

2,  The Bible - The Old and New Testament Scriptures were written by men through the inspiration and supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is without error, and is the living and authoritative Word of God:  the way He has chosen to reveal himself to man.  (See Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)

3.  Salvation - Mankind was separated from God when Adam and Eve sinned.  The only way we can be reconciled to God is through Jesus Christ.  Jesus being fully God AND fully man, was the only one who could redeem fallen man.  He willingly died in our place- for our sin.  By grace, through faith (faith=repentance + belief), ALL are invited to receive this free gift of salvation.  (See Mark 1:15, Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-9)

4,The Resurrection - Jesus Christ died, was buried and was raised to life on the third day.  He was seen by many for 40 days before ascending to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father.  Through this resurrection (the foundation of our faith) we can have eternal life with Him when our physical bodies pass away.  (See Luke 24:46-47, 1 Corintrhians 15:3-5)

5,  Restoration - God's story is a story of creation, the fall, redemption and restoration.  Believers are to not only spread the Good News of salvation, but as imitators of Christ, they are to be salt and light while living out ways to mend the brokenness of this world.  The restoration of all things began with Jesus' earthly ministry and continues until God inaugurates the Eternal State at the end of the age.  (See Matthew 5:13-16, 6:9-10, Acts 3:21, Romans 8:19-23, Revelation 22:3)

6.  Growing -  (1) In Sanctification- This begins at salvation and is simply the lifelong process of growing in your faith walk.  The Holy Spirit helps to bring about life change and right living as we desire to become more like Christ.  (See Romans 12:1-2, Peter 3:18) (2) In the Baptism in the Holy Spirit- All believers are encouraged to receive the free gift of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit whereby one is empowered, receives boldness, prays in the Spirit, and glorifies God.  It is evidenced by speaking in other (known or unknown) languages.  (See Acts 2:1-4, 10:44-46, 19:6, Romans 8:26( (3) In Spiritual Gifts-  Every believer has been given one or more Spiritual Gitts for the accomplishing of God's purposes, to edify one another in the body of Christ and to bring Him glory.  (See Romans 12:6, 1 Corinthians 12:411, Ephesians 4:12)

7.  Eternity -  When our physical bodies die, we will spend all of eternity in one of two literal places: heaven or hell.  All of mankind will one day stand before the judgement seat of God.  Those who have rejeted God will be cast into everlasting torment with the devil and his demons.  Those who have accepted the free gift of salvation will forever be with the Lord.  (See Matthew 25:34-46, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15)
